Calendar: Today’s calendar was led by Krish. Great job Krish!
Phonics: Today, students reviewed the “ie”
sound, letter, and song. Students used different materials including markers,
whiteboards, and playdough to draw and sculpt words and objects that contain
the “ie” sound.

Journals: Today,
students wrote journal entries about their favourite community helpers.
Students selected a favourite community helper, and justified their response by
recording a reason about why they selected that particular community helper.
Lunch/ Recess 1
Math: Today, students reviewed
using number lines to add and subtract. Students are recalling how we move to
the right to add numbers on a number line, and move to the left on the number
line to subtract or “take-away.” Students should continue to practice
strategies for addition and subtraction in preparation for the Math Test on
Friday.
Unit of Inquiry: Today, students learned
about sanitation workers and the role of garbage collection. Students discussed
recycling, and how they can also be involved in protecting and caring for our
environment.
