Calendar: Today’s calendar was led by Neel. Great job Neel!
Phonics: Today,
students reviewed Short Vowel sounds (a, e, i, o, u) and generated a list.
Please select six words from this list or the Long Vowel list for Words of the
Week.

Journals: Today,
students used pictures and words to record some of the short vowel sounds that
we had reviewed.
Lunch/ Recess 1
Math: Today, students reviewed how
addition sentences can be written vertically or horizontally, and practiced
writing addition sentences vertically. Review packages will be sent home prior
to the test on February 2nd
Unit of Inquiry: Our new Unit of Inquiry
is How We Organize Ourselves. This unit looks at how a community is made up of
a team of different people working together, in order to establish a common
purpose. Today we read a book called “Franklin’s Neighbourhood.” We discussed some
of the important people and places in our own neighbourhoods.
