Calendar: Today’s calendar was led by Mateo. Great job Mateo!
Phonics: Today, students reviewed the “oa”
sound, letter, and song. Students used playdough and whiteboards to practice
printing and forming words that contain the “oa” sound.

Unit of Inquiry: Today, students had a
Police Officer visit our class as part of our Unit of Inquiry about community
helpers. Students had lots of questions for our special guest, and learned a
lot about what the police can do to help keep our community safe.
Lunch/ Recess 1
Journals: Today, students wrote
thank you letters to some of our community helpers including firefighters and
police officers. Students used pictures and words to communicate their ideas.
Math: Today, students practiced
writing number sentences to reflect pictures and objects. Students reviewed how
to write missing information, including the numbers being added or subtracted
and the correct symbol (addition or subtraction).
