Day 37

Good evening,

Assembly: We had an Award Assembly to acknowledge our learners who demonstrate the Knowledgeable Learner Profile. Congratulations to Eric and Ahaan who know about our world and make connections between ideas.

Music: Please see Mrs. Hayward’s blog for more information.

Calendar: Today’s calendar was led by Veer. Great job Veer!

French: Please see Mlle. Jessica’s blog for more information.

Phonics: Today students were introduced to the “G/g” sound, actions, and songs. Students watched a video called "Geraldine learns the /g/ sound." Students also brainstormed words that contain the "G/g" sound.

Lunch/ Recess 1

Math: Students reviewed the pattern terminology that we have been using such as the pattern core, attributes, and how to name patterns using letters. Today, students were introduced to ABBA patterns. Students used the whiteboard to practice creating and continuing ABBA patterns. One of the challenges was identifying the pattern core in an ABBA pattern.

Unit of Inquiry: Students sorted classroom objects as either hard or soft. This is continuing our focus on the sense of touch. Be prepared for a special sensory experience tomorrow!
