Day 24

Good evening,

Calendar: Today’s calendar was led by Eric. Great job Eric!



Phonics: Today, the students reviewed the “E/e” sound, actions and songs. Geraldine the Giraffe made a visit to the classroom! The students really enjoyed interacting with Geraldine and brainstorming “E/e” sounds and words.










French: Please see Mlle. Jessica’s blog for more information.

Journals: Students wrote lists in their journals of words with the “E/e” sound. The lists include a title, are numbered, and include more than one item.



Lunch/ Recess 1

Math: Today, the students reviewed number recognition in preparation for the test on Friday, October 13th Students had the opportunity to connect numerals, words, and pictures. They also filled in the missing numbers in a sequence.





Unit of Inquiry: Today, students read a book by Eric Carle called “The Tiny Seed.” Students made connections between this book and ideas from their unit called Down at the Farm. Students used their bodies to represent seeds and growing plants. Their feet were firmly rooted and the leaves swayed in the wind. Great job everyone!

Catch-Up
Students practiced their summative presentation, as well as being an attentive audience member. We are excited for the Farm Day Presentations tomorrow.
