Calendar: Today’s calendar was led by Ahaan. Great job Ahaan!

Phonics: Today, the students were introduced to the “E/e” sound, actions and
songs. We watched a video called, “Geraldine learns the “e” sound”. Then we
brainstormed a list of “E/e” sounds and words on the board.
Lunch/ Recess 1
Unit of Inquiry: Today, students participated in a presentation
from a representative of the Dairy Farmers of Canada. Students were able to ask
questions and were introduced to different tools used in milk production and
distribution.
Math: Today, the students reviewed different ways to make 5 using snapcubes and
five-frames. For example, students were given different colour combinations and
shared different ways to make 5 (For example, 2 and 3, or 4 and 1). Students
shared their snapcube five-frame in a circle. Students then practiced making
different combinations and recorded their findings.

Daily 5: Read to Self
Students participated in 10 minutes of independent reading. Students were
able to choose a book and a spot in the classroom where they would be able to
practice reading on their own.
