Good evening,
Oral Communication
Presentations: Congratulations
to Ronan and Armaan on their fabulous poem presentations in the auditorium! Our
class enjoyed hearing the poems and story-telling from the JK-Grade 1 students.
Calendar: Today’s calendar was led by Diyya. Great job Diyya!
Phonics: Today, students reviewed the “ee”
and “or” sounds, letters, and songs. Then Krish and Armaan presented their Show
and Share. Thank you for bringing in an item with your assigned sound!
Lunch/ Recess 1
Math: Today, students practiced
telling time to the hour. Students practiced drawing the hands on an analog
clock. They recalled “When the big hand’s at the top, you know it’s __
o’clock!” Students also practiced writing the time when given an analog clock.
For example, if the clock showed three o’clock, students would record “3:00”
IB Learner Profile: This month we are
focusing on the Open-Minded Learner Profile. Students read a book called “Green
Eggs and Ham.” Students discussed the importance of being open-minded by being
willing to try new things and being willing to consider other ideas and
opinions. Students also reflected on how it is difficult to make a decision or
judgement before you have all the information or have explored multiple
possibilities.
