Calendar: Today’s calendar was led by Izyan. Great job Izyan!
Phonics: Today, students reviewed the “V/v”
sound, letter, and song. Students practiced identifying and printing words that
contain the “V/v” sound.

Journals: Today,
students completed journal entries that started with the phrase “In our solar
system…” Students completed this entry by telling something they have learned
about our solar system. Some students wrote about the moon and the stars.
Others created lists of the planets or constellations such as the Big Dipper.
Lunch/ Recess 1
Math: Today, students continued
learning about Place Value. Students practiced creating groups of 10 to make
counting more efficient. Students completed an activity that involved creating
groups of 10 and including the remainders as 1s in order to represent two digit
numbers. Students used pictures, numerals, and charts to display their
findings.
Unit of Inquiry: Today, students created
rocketships and the Sun using a variety of materials. Students used tissue
paper to create a model of the Sun.
