Day 131

Calendar: Today’s calendar was led by Mateo. Great job Mateo!

Phonics: Today, students were introduced to the “Qu/qu” sound, letters, and song. Students watched a video called “Geraldine learns the /qu/ sound.” After this, students brainstormed a list of words that contain this sound.

Lunch/ Recess 1

Math: Today, students started their new math unit about Measurement. Students completed an activity to demonstrate their prior knowledge about measuring and comparing objects, before we begin our exploration into length, height, weight, and capacity.

Unit of Inquiry: Today, students read a story called “Franklin and the Thunderstorm.” Students discussed some of the signs that a storm is coming, as well as what causes thunder and lightning. Students discussed different emotions about thunderstorms and what they find a little scary or exciting!
