and printing words that contain the “oo” sound.
Lunch/ Recess 1
Math: Today, students continued
learning about Place Value. Students practiced creating groups of 10 by
circling 10 objects. Students completed an activity that involved creating
groups of 10 and including the remainders as 1s in order to represent two digit
numbers. Students used pictures, numerals, and charts to display their findings.
Students discussed how groups of 10s could be counted more quickly than
counting a large group of objects by 1s.
Unit of Inquiry: Today, students created
planet Earth using blue and green colours. Students discussed how Earth is the
only planet that we know can support life, because it allows us to grow food,
and has a source of water. We also discussed how the ozone layer protects us
and supports life on planet Earth.
