Phonics: Today, students were introduced to
the “X/x” sound, letter, and song. Students watched a video called “Geraldine
learns the /x/ sound.” After this, students brainstormed a list of words that
contain the “X/x” sound.
Lunch/ Recess 1
Unit of Inquiry: Today, students created
the planet Uranus. They discussed how this planet also has rings (like Saturn)
but that the rings are vertical and Uranus rotates on it’s side.
Math: Today, students were introduced to the nickel. Students practiced counting by 5s. Students also practiced determining how many nickels it would take for a certain price. For example, an orange costs 20 cents. How many nickels are needed to pay for the orange?
