Calendar: Today’s calendar was led by Ronan. Great job Ronan!

Phonics: Today students were reviewed the “D/d” sound, actions, and songs. Students completed a worksheet to practice their writing, and to identify which words contain the “D/d” sound.

Photo Preparation: Since we hadn’t taken our pictures yet, we decided to do a trial run! This included a group picture and a couple silly poses.

Lunch/ Recess 1

Reading Buddies: We were excited that our Reading Buddies came for a visit! Unfortunately, this was a short visit, because we were called down to the auditorium for our photo session.

Math: Students reviewed the pattern terminology that we have been using such as the pattern core, attributes, and how to name patterns using letters. Today, students were introduced to AAB patterns. Students used the whiteboard to practice creating and continuing AAB patterns. They also completed a Fall Pattern Activity to gain practice with this new pattern.

Calendar: Today’s calendar was led by Veda. Great job Veda!

Phonics: Today students were introduced to the “D/d” sound, actions, and songs. Students viewed the video “Geraldine learns the /Dd/ sound.”

French: Please see Mlle. Jessica’s blog for more information.

Journal: Today students created lists of words with the “D/d” sound. Students also practiced writing a sentence with one of the words on their list.

Lunch/ Recess 1: Thank you for your contributions and participation in the Bake Sale! There are still treats that will be available tomorrow if students wish to participate.

Math: Students reviewed the pattern terminology that we have been using such as the pattern core, attributes, and how to name patterns using letters. Today, students were introduced to AABB patterns. Students used the whiteboard to practice creating and continuing AABB patterns.

Unit of Inquiry: Students completed the Pumpkin Investigation. Our pumpkin contained 492 seeds! The students also painted the pumpkin and decorated it with shapes. Students also created a Fall Tree through a Rip-and-Glue activity.

Phonics: Today students reviewed the “M/m” sound, actions, and songs. Students then completed a worksheet to practice recognizing and writing words with the “M/m” sound.

Lunch/ Recess 1: Thank you for your contributions and participation in the Bake Sale! There are still treats that will be available tomorrow if students wish to participate.

Math: Students reviewed the pattern terminology that we have been using such as the pattern core, attributes, and how to name patterns using letters. Today, students were introduced to ABCD patterns. Students completed an activity where they created patterns using snapcubes. Students are creating more complex patterns in the classroom!

Unit of Inquiry: Students conducted a Pumpkin Investigation when we cut open our pumpkin today. Students described what our pumpkin was like on the outside, as well as on the inside. Students also estimated how many seeds would be in the pumpkin. Stay tuned as we count how many seeds our pumpkin contains!
