Good evening,
Book Fair: Today, students previewed
the Book Fair in order to find out what is available. With their Reading
Buddies, students completed a “Wish List” of books and materials that interested
them. Students will have time over the next week to purchase books from the
Book Fair.
Calendar: Today’s calendar was led by Neel. Great job Neel!
Phonics: Today, students reviewed the Short “I/i” sound, action, and song. Students watched a video called “Geraldine learns the /i/ sound.” After this, students brainstormed words that contain the Short “I/i” sound. Students are practicing differentiating vowel sounds.
Lunch/ Recess 1
Math: Students have started a
new unit in Math about Addition. Today, students practiced using different
combinations of snapcubes to make 5. They built snapcube trains, and recorded
their results in their workbooks. Students also started completing addition
statements to match the snapcubes.
Unit of Inquiry: Today, students
identified different signs of winter. They also began a writing activity about
their five senses and what they see, hear, smell, feel, and taste when winter
comes.
