Good evening,
For today, Ms. Mather-Dyer’s SK class should refer to Mr. Foster’s
blog for photos and updates from their Grade One activities on Year Ahead Day.
Please also ensure you see the dates and reminders at the end of today’s post.
Mr. Foster’s Blog: http://fosterg1.blogspot.ca/
Students in Ms. Padovan’s and Ms. Fisher’s classes had a fabulous
day in SK today! They showed a lot of responsibility and flexibility by quickly
adapting to different routines and expectations. Thank you for exploring SK
today!!
Calendar: Today’s calendar was led by Noorah. Great job Noorah!
Phonics: Today
students reviewed the letter “I/i” sound, action, and song. Students watched a
video called “Geraldine the Giraffe learns the /i/ sound.” Finally, students brainstormed a
list of words that contain the “I/i” sound.
French: Please see Mlle. Jessica’s blog for more
information.
Writing: Today,
students practiced making the letter “I/I” with play dough.
Lunch/ Recess 1
Math: In JK, students have been
starting to learn about data management. In SK, we surveyed the class and
recorded our answers in a graph. Students were able to conduct a survey at
their table groups, and recorded the results in a bar graph. They also counted
the total number of votes and wrote this number on their graph.
Reading Buddies: Students were excited to
be able to read a new collection of books with their reading buddies.
Art: Today, students create “pop-up”
holiday cards. Students used markers and explored how to make 3D shapes in
their cards.
Lunch/ Recess 2
Gym: Please see Ms. Jans’ blog
for more information.

Have a wonderful evening!!
