Phonics: Today,
students practiced identifying the Long “O/o” sound in words. Students used
flash cards, and practiced with a partner. Great work sounding out new words!
Lunch/ Recess 1
Math: Today, students were
introduced to word questions in addition. For example:
There
are 10 marbles in a bag.
Some
of them are green and some of them are blue.
There
are 2 more blue marbles than green marbles.
How
many blue marbles are in the bag?
Use
pictures, numbers, and words to show this bag of marbles.
Through
different strategies such as “Guess and check,” students practiced
problem-solving, and writing a statement to record their findings. In this
case, students determined that there were 6 blue marbles, and 4 green marbles.
Lunch/ Recess 2
Oakwood Christmas Concert: We enjoyed watching Oakwood’s production of “Home
Alone.” The Oakwood students had a wonderful performance!!
