Good evening,

Calendar: Today’s calendar was led by Zane. Great job Zane!

Journal: Today, students wrote journal entries without being given a sentence starter. Students enjoyed creative writing, and were interested to hear the different ideas that their peers chose for writing.




Lunch/ Recess 1

Math: Today, students enjoyed our Math Olympics which allowed us to review several concepts from the year. We were able to recall how to tell time on a digital and analog clock, and how to add and subtract.

Announcement: Water Fun Day June 14
The SK classes will be having a Water Fun Day! Due to the inclement weather during our field trip to Chinguacousy Park, we decided to end the year off by having a Water Fun Day on Thursday, June 14th at 9:45am – 10:45am. Students can come to school dressed in their swimming gear as we will begin shortly after the morning assembly.

What you will need to participate:
  • Bathing suit
  • Towel
  • Water shoes, flip-flops, or sandals
  • Change of clothes
  • Water gun (optional)
If you do not want your child to participate, please let us know, and he or she will play on the play structure during this time.

Lunch/ Recess 1

Unit of Inquiry: Today, students shared their Seasons Scrapbook with the class. Students did a fabulous job describing the different activities and apparel for each season. Students also demonstrated creativity in how they designed and presented their scrapbooks. It was fun to share some of our memories from the year!

Journal: Students wrote journal entries with the sentence starter “In 20 years I will…” Students had lots of different ideas about where they might like to live or what job they might like to do in 20 years. Students shared their writing with their peers.









Lunch/ Recess 1

Math: Students did a great job on their Geometry Math Test. Students demonstrated their understanding of positions, 2D shapes, and 3D shapes. Great work!!




Unit of Inquiry: Today, students watched a Magic School Bus Episode about how plants grow. Students reviewed what plants need to help them grow including water and sunlight. Students also made comparisons about the growth of our classroom plants.

Calendar: Today’s calendar was led by Armaan. Great job Armaan!

Literacy: Today, students read a book called “Sea Shapes.” We learned about different sea creatures, and also reviewed shapes in preparation for the math test tomorrow. Students also created their own Sea Shape picture.


Lunch/ Recess 1

Math: Students are reviewing key concepts for their Geometry Test tomorrow. Today, students practiced identifying 2D shapes by recording the number of sides and the number of corners for each shape.




Unit of Inquiry: Today, we traced 3 students, and created a collaborative project that represented each member of the table groups. Students used colours, pictures, and words to represent their group. After this, students rotated to the other groups to write positive messages to the other groups. Great work SK students!!

Track and Field: Congratulations to Zane, Ronan, and Mateo who represented St. Jude’s Academy at the Inter-School Track and Field Competition at The Maples Academy.
